Good to know

• A PCR test is required before travel (within 72 hours or less, or within 48 hours or less as required).
• The traveller must hold the international vaccination certificate, printed or digital.
• A period of 14 days must have passed since receiving the second vaccine dose.
• Accepted vaccines: CanSino, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Moderna, Sputnik.
• Health insurance covering COVID-19 with a minimum coverage amount is required. Companies or individuals outside Malaysia are not allowed to book directly without coordinating with tourism companies registered in Malaysia. Children under 17, whether vaccinated or unvaccinated, are required to take a PCR test 48 hours or less before travel; if the result is positive the traveller will be quarantined at their own expense, and if the result is negative the travellers may complete the trip to Penang Island.
• Health insurance covering COVID-19 with a minimum coverage amount, obtained from travel companies in your country.
• Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, an RTK Antigen Test must be taken.
• A PCR test is required within 48 hours before returning to your country, and companies or individuals must use the approved voucher sent by the Malaysian company.
• The Malaysian government's dedicated app must be downloaded on the traveller's phone; it can be downloaded via the App Store or Play Store.
